An ambitious development project
To guarantee an even more cutting-edge home for national and international events, acting as a driving force for the tourist and economic development of the local area. This is the underlying objective of the Riva del Garda Exhibition Centre redevelopment project which, involves the creation of new spaces and the regeneration of existing ones within a territorial vision aimed at enhancing the whole complex and the surrounding urban context.
Our history
Originally an industrial area, then later an artisan centre, thanks to an intervention in 1996, the Baltera locality was transformed into the main trade fair and congress hub of Trentino, becoming an attractive reference point for major national and international events. With 49,100m2 of gross indoor exhibition space, the Exhibition Centre is just a couple of kilometres from the historic town centre of Riva del Garda, in a strategic position, easily reached from the motorway exit. The exhibition areas are arranged in a flexible, modular way that is able to offer a vast array of solutions to satisfy the needs of every type of event.
The Exhibition Centre emerges - 1996
Until this point in time, the Riva del Garda fairs had been located in numerous and varied exhibition venues, mostly impromptu, but now, they finally found a home. Responding to the needs of an ever-increasing number of exhibitors, the Exhibition Centre was created in the Baltera area.
RFC Immobiliare is founded - 2017
In order to refine the exhibition offer and initiate a development project for the real estate complex, Riva del Garda Fierecongressi establishes the subsidiary that is responsible for the acquisition of the complexes adjacent to the Exhibition Centre, as well as for the redevelopment of the area as a whole.
Public-private agreement - 2018
The Programme Agreement for the development project of the Exhibition Centre is signed between the public body – the Autonomous Province of Trento with the subsidiary ‘Patrimonio del Trentino S.p.A.’ - and the private company - Riva del Garda Fierecongressi S.p.A. and its subsidiary RFC Real Estate S.r.l..
First restructuring phase - 2019
The company commits to the acquisition of part of the real estate complex called "ex SICOM," leading to the inauguration of the new ‘Hangar D’ multifunctional area on the occasion of the summer edition of Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags, a leading, world level event dedicated to volume footwear and leather goods.
Accelerated progress for the building works - 2020
The concrete planning of the extension project takes shape. In the meantime, the construction of the sports hall in the Baltera area is contracted out by ‘Patrimonio del Trentino’ with an intervention of provincial competence, including the construction of a ground level and multi-storey car park and Hall G to the west of the exhibition centre.
The project is approved - 2021
At the beginning of the year, the development and redevelopment project of the exhibition centre obtains the approval of the Supervisory Commission on theatres and other public entertainment venues of the Autonomous Province of Trento, right from the first presentation.
A glance towards the future - 2023
A strategically relevant exhibition centre which attracts a high level of public interest, with the aim of giving shape to the project by 2023, the year in which the completion of the interventions on the current structures is expected.
